What good designs go bad…

I’m not perfect and neither is my work. Sometimes things just don’t go to plan and when that happens there’s nothing you can do but shrug and move on.

Today I decided to finish a hand cut I’d started a few weeks ago. It’s been a few weeks since my last hand cut so this was planned as a bit of a practice to get me back in the zone.

The cutting was ok but by the end of the process it was clear that the design sucked. Ah well, such is life.

The end result? It will go in the bin but before it does I’ve pinned it up on my inspiration board – death row for bad papercuts. It’s good to remind yourself that nobody’s perfect.
