I hate the end of a holiday and will do anything to eke out every last drop of fun to fend off the Sunday night blues. We went to the cinema - Small Things Like These was excellent with Cillian Murphy lighting up the screen - followed by a twinkly stroll through town. I’m minded to practice Novent this year - basically it’s a Swedish trend where you use the month of November to bring in quiet moments of Christmas magic, kind of like advent but with the aim of doing things slowly and enjoying small simple things that cheer your days. I used to find my Decembers crammed full with boring, routine things leaving no time to do all the festive things I enjoy so I’ve consciously tried to change that and focus my energy on small pleasures in the run up to Christmas. So today, my cheeky glass of wine and a good film is my first day of Novent. A few snapshots of my week. We said goodbye to the old lady this morning, she’s tucked up snug with plenty of antifreeze to keep the pipes flowing (we hope!🤞🏻)and then it was a chilled drive to Gothenburg to catch the plane home. Northern Sweden got it’s first fall of snow today; it was very mild in Småland, though windy, but the cold fingers of frost will soon arrive there too. Being back in Suffolk is also good, I enjoyed seeing all the Halloween decorations people had put up and of course we got a hero’s welcome from our furry son.
