Sitting quietly in the shade of a tree is a silver hare, a crescent moon and solitary star overhead.
A Quiet Spell is a metal foil sculpture, hand-cut and assembled by me. Each shape is cut individually, like a papercut, embossed and then put together to create a scene.
It captures a perfect moment of summer stillness when warm winds and moonlit skies make it a delight to sit in the evening and enjoy a moment of stillness.
Near my home I see plenty of hares and these magical creatures are very special to me.
The foil cuts are assembled on a wire frame then fixed into an untreated cherry wood base. The bark of the wood is left intact to give the piece a natural finish.
Approx diameter 5cm and approx height 12.5cms.
My foil sculptures are perfect placed where they can catch the light.
Place them at eye level to catch every tiny detail and protect them from dust by putting them under a simple glass dome.
