Handprinted linocut bee lantern.

The happy sight of a flower garden full of bees inspired this printed design. Here in Suffolk I try to grow lots of bee friendly plants in my little walled garden and there’s something very comforting about watching them bustle about among the blooms on a sunny summer’s day.
Bees are traditionally a symbol of wealth, good luck and prosperity making these pretty printed lanterns a thoughtful gift for bee lovers.
The initial design was handcut into a sheet of Lino before being printed onto lampshade parchment. Once dry, the flat sheet is rolled into shape and the edges bound with co-ordinating fabric.
The lanterns come neatly boxed with a set of battery operated fairy lights. These narrow lanterns are for indoor use only and are unsuitable for use with candles.
Their small footprint makes them a good choice for homes where shelf space is limited - lots of my customers use them for camping or in narrow boats.
Approx size: 21cm x 9cm diameter.
